Handcrafted, carved wooden signs and gifts

A Special Way to Say Thank You to Teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week

This year, teacher appreciation week is May 7-11, 2012. In fact, you might even be participating in Teacher Appreciation Week activities this week at your child’s school, or you might have sent in treats, Starbucks cards or other small gifts to your children’s teachers this week.

First off, we’d like to add our voices to all of the others in our community who want to send a giant “THANK YOU!” out to Bonney Lake, Buckley and Enumclaw area teachers.  The plateau area of southeast King and northeast Pierce counties (including parts of Auburn, Bonney Lake, Buckley, Enumclaw, Wilkeson and Carbonado) is not only a beautiful place to live, but it is a great place to raise children, in large measure due to the dedication of the teachers and coaches who impact our kids lives so positively.

It’s  possible that you didn’t know it was Teacher Appreciation Week at your child’s school or you might not have had a chance to participate.

If so, we have good news!  It’s not too late to plan to do something to thank your child’s homeroom teacher, favorite teacher or another educator who has made a difference in the life of your son or daughter.

At, we specialize in carved wood signs and other specialty items that would make great thank you gifts for your child’s teachers or to honor your wife, husband or other family member or special friend who is a teacher.

Carved wood signs like the one below, by local artisan and owner of  Watson’s Wooden Word,s Tom Watson would make great teacher appreciation gifts and we can still make them in time for you to give your child’s teacher a carved wood sign as a thank you gift before high school graduation or summer vacation begins.

It’s not just about carved wood signs for the classroom; we can also design something more personal or take your design for a personalized sign and transform it into a carved wood sign, plaque, door plate, welcome sign or art that could be used to grace your favorite teacher’s fireplace mantle, garden, summer vacation cabin – the possibilities are endless!

In addition to carved wood signs, we also make custom carved wood game boards for cribbage, tic tac toe (a tic tac toe wood board game is a great elementary teacher appreciation gift idea!), chess / checkers and other board games.  And all of these types of carved wood gifts can also be personalized with the name of your favorite teacher, a favorite quote or anything else you might want.

We’d love to have a chance to help you design a one-of-a-kind, totally unique carved wood sign or gift to give to your favorite teacher, principal, coach or another educator this year for teacher appreciation week, graduation or to celebrate the end of the school year or sports team season.

It’s easy to get started: Simply fill out our carved wood sign and gift quote form and tell us about your idea for a personalized wood sign or another custom gift.  You can even tell us what you want to spend up front, and we will work within your budget to help you craft a beautiful carved wood sign or gift for your special someone!
